The Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service of NSW (GLCS) is a volunteer based community service providing free, anonymous and confidential telephone counselling, information and referral services and support groups for gay men, lesbians, bisexual and transgender persons (GLBT) and people in related communities throughout New South Wales (NSW) on sexuality and life issues.

GROUPS IN NEWTOWN:
Women's Coming Out Group - 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month, 7pm-9pm.
Talking It Out Men's Discussion Group - 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month, 7pm-9pm.
Social Saturdays (social group for all LGBTIQ people - women, men, and sex and/or gender diverse people) - 3rd Saturday of each month, 4.30pm-6.30pm
GLCS also hosts Newtown SMART Drug & Alcohol Recovery, Mondays 6pm-7.30pm (not public holidays)

GLCS is in the process of merging with Twenty10 in 2012, to become part of 'Twenty10 incorporating GLCS NSW'. This will not affect the services currently delivered by GLCS.

*SOCIAL SATURDAYS monthly social group (all genders, all ages over 18 - 3rd Sat of each month) next meets 19 MAY 2012 4.30pm-6.30pm for an IDAHO Afternoon Tea with GLCS. Upstairs at 43 Bedford St, Newtown. Then: 16 June Trivia, 21 July Board Games.

*Newtown SMART DRUG & ALCOHOL RECOVERY meets every Monday except public holidays, 6.00pm. Upstairs at 43 Bedford St, Newtown.

*TALKING IT OUT: MEN'S DISCUSSION GROUP: next meets Thursday 17 May, 7.00pm, then Thursday 7 June 2012, 7.00pm. Upstairs at 43 Bedford St, Newtown.
